S Broadway: Walk across the rainbow boardwalk on South Broadway to access miles of fair-trade coffeeshops, live music venues, record stores, tasteful vegan food, and our favorite- retro vintage + thrift stores.
River North Art District (RiNo) - known for its many colorful murals, art galleries, concert venues, coffee shops, and bars. Make sure to check out the Denver central market if you go here. It’s a great place to get some tasty vegan treats, coffee, or a beer and meet the locals.
Restaurants & Cafes
Mutiny Information Cafe: The aroma of locally roasted coffee beans and used books awaits as you walk into Mutiny Cafe. It’s not only a cafe, but also a record store, bookshop, and arcade. This secondhand bookshop takes classic comics to local art with a vintage spin on it. The cbd-infused kombucha on tap and vegan baked goods make it a perfect getaway spot to find new music, grab a coffee, or get lost in reading.
City, O’ City: Walk-in this foodie hotspot and see platters of delicious vegan hot wings being served by bearded hipsters with skinny tattooed arms. This is probably our absolute favorite restaurant in Denver. The gothic century modern bar mixed with the dazzling chandeliers make it quite the atmosphere. Turn your head any corner and you will see dope local artwork on every wall, ready for purchase. You can even make your own art in the bathroom, if you bring a sharpie. The food is so amazing, that there’s no way you can go wrong. It might be wise to make a reservation though because it’s always bumping here.
Beet Box Bakery & Cafe: Located in the heart of Denver, Beet Box Bakery & Cafe is the perfect spot for Sunday brunch or simply writing, coffee, and a wide selection of vegan baked goods. The grilled avacado panini dripped tomato pesto and melted in your mouth. Our favorites donuts included the coconut joy and vanilla almond glazed.
Buffalo Exchange: A Platos Closet spin on vintage clothing, Buffalo Exchange is the perfect combination of retro + affordable clothing. You could easily spend hours in this store finding one of a kind vintage pieces, from denim jumpsuits to classic Levi jeans.
Boss Vintage: You can’t get much groovier than Boss vintage. With vintage clothing from the most iconic eras, you’ll find whatever piece you’re looking for. This might be the easiest place to find Clueless inspired outfit. Be prepared to bring a little extra cash though, because it is a little pricier.
Lovely Vintage: Hand-picked clothing becomes a unique and ethical shopping experience at Lovely Vintage. Not only will you find the cutest western vibes pieces, but you can leave knowing that every item is locally sourced, and well-made.
Goodwill: Although the experienced thrift shopper knows that Goodwills are sometimes hit-or-miss, the Goodwill on S Broadway is certainly not to be missed. All the rejected vintage pieces from the other stores on the street go straight here, and you’ll be sure to find some levis or rockin band tees after digging a little.
Red Rocks: No explanation is needed as to why going to see one of the world's coolest outdoor amphitheaters is a must. Feel the crisp mountain air and unforgettable views, no concert ticket necessary (but for a cooler experience, get concert tickets). It’s also a park so make sure you walk the trails to get the full red rocks experience.
The Rocky Mountains: If you don’t go anywhere else, go here. The crisp mountain air and breathtaking views will make your trip totally worth it. Bring a camera and don’t forget to stop at a dispensary on the way to get that full rocky mountain high experience ;)
Pikes Peak: The tallest summit of the southern front range of the snow capped Rocky Mountains will have you feeling higher than ever. The best part is, it’s an easy hike- you can actually drive right up. You can get off at various pull offs to stop to take in the memorable views. Take a couple pictures, journal, or have a local Denver beer with some friends or fellow travelers for the full Pikes Peak experience.
Step into the geo thermal cave springs for the deepest relaxation. When you’re done, hop into the hot mineral pool surrounded by tropical plants and palm trees. The onsite spas and jacuzzis are a third option, and if you get too relaxed, you can always stay the night and enjoy it again in the morning.
